Here we will have a brief overview of severe weather. We do have one lone supercell occurring out in North Dakota with a history of tornadoes. Here is a reflectivity image of it:
This long lived supercell has a couple of mid-upper level areas of rotation, indicated by the green circles. We notice the classic hook echo, and the remnants of a flying eagle radar signature. This storm is still a classic supercell, but it is starting to lose its ability to produce severe hail. It has gone through numerous cycles, and with each one it seems to weaken its hail core. Hail is possible, but the main threat now is, hate to say it, a tornado. Please heed warnings for this storm, it has produced multiple tornadoes, and it has a stunning structure on radar. Potential exists for this to grow upscale into a cluster of thunderstorms with potential for widespread wind damage. Stay tuned!
