Severe Weather in the Plains

Severe Weather Outlook

Today is yet another slight risk day across the Northern Plains.  Here is the SPC's map:
As usual, people in the yellow zone should make sure that they and people around them are aware of the fact that they are at risk for severe weather.  They should make sure that they have sure that they have an accurate source for receiving watches and warnings as they are issued, and that they know what to do if one is put out.
What we're expecting to happen is that a few storms should develop across the western edges of the slight risk before they organize into a cluster of thunderstorms capable of damaging winds.  Here is my map:
I decided to bring the slight risk farther south than the SPC because of the expected environment across the region.  In the southern blob, expect a less widespread threat than up in the north blob.  Stay tuned.
