Severe Weather in the Plains

Tropicast: 08/08/2011

There are no tropical cyclones to worry about at this time.  In fact, we should be headed into a more quiet period over the next week or two, minus any stray tropical depressions/storms that the models aren't picking up on.  We have had much above normal activity over the past few weeks, which has lead NOAA to upgrading the number of tropical cyclones this season.  We should be in a more "normal" period for the next few weeks.  Then the season ramps up by the end of August, climatologically, at least.  That is really all I have for you, it looks like a few boring days without any NHC development chances.  Stay tuned.
