Welcome to WeatherSchool! This is your guide to all things weather on this blog. First, we're going to start off with probably the most mentioned word on this blog: SPC. For those who don't know, SPC stands for Storm Predicion Center. The SPC is the official severe thunderstorm forecast station in the country. They make the maps that look like this:
They issue the convective outlooks, like the one above this line of text, the weather watches, the Mesoscale Discussions, and the Fire Outlooks, which I have never used on this blog. They do have an "About the SPC" page, located
here. They are the first website I look at every morning. Here is their logo:

This building is the National Weather Center, which is also home to many other weather programs which we really can't list due to the large number of them. The SPC is truly the lifeblood for predicting storms across the country, sorting out your thoughts on severe weather. You may find them
