Severe Weather in the Plains

Severe Weather Outlook

Today is another slight risk day.  Here is the SPC's map:
As always, people in the yellow region should make sure that they and people around them are aware that they are at a risk of severe weather including large hail, the potential for widespread wind damage, and even a few tornadoes, especially in the region around Southern Lake Michigan.  Persons in these regions should make sure that they have an accurate source for receiving watches and warnings as they are issued, and that they know what to do if one is issued.  Being it August, people whose school sports are in and have practice tonight should be prepared for potential cancellations, delays, and/or early dismissals.  It appears that a few discrete storms may develop across Northern Wisconsin/Lower Michigan before quickly organizing into a line of severe thunderstorms that should trek across the area capable of widespread wind damage.  Here is my map:
Seeing how yesterday's Moderate risk went, I refrained from issuing one, however later updates may include a Moderate risk and a possible westward expansion, if warranted.  Stay tuned.
