Tropicast: 08/02/2011

Today's Tropicast will concern Tropical Storm Emily and Hurricane Eugene.  First, Emily.  Emily really hasn't changed much since the last update, so all I will share is the updated map:

As usual, the blue tracks represent the cone of uncertainty, with the red track representing USA Weather's official track.  The storm looks like it is going to brush right up against Florida, but landfall is in question.  Persons in the Caribbean Islands and the Eastern Florida coast should definitely monitor this storm and prepare for tropical storm to potentially hurricane force winds.  Next, Eugene.  Eugene strengthened much more rapidly than we thought.  He could see Category three status soon.  Stay tuned.
