Today, the Storm Prediction Center has a slight risk of severe thunderstorms:
As usual, everybody inside of the yellow area must make sure that they and others nearby are aware of the potential severe threat today. Also, make sure that you have a reliable source for receiving watches and warnings, and that you know what to do if one is issued. Multiple storm clusters already exist, with one in particular already severe. It has warranted a discussion by the Storm Prediction Center, stating that a severe thunderstorm watch is "possible." Here is the included image:
A quick GR2Analyst consultation suggests that a downburst with wind and hail may be occurring in one of the storms mentioned:
The possible downburst is the area of green inside the larger area of red, nearby the orange marker. What we're watching for is the potential for this storm, and the line associated with it, to strengthen/increase in coverage with time. A watch may be issued. Here is my map:
I do have a rather large slight risk in my outlook. Stay tuned!
