Today's slight risk is across three states: Minnesota, Upper Michigan, and Wisconsin:
As usual, everybody inside this threat area should make sure that they and people around them are aware that they are in a threat zone for severe weather. You should also make sure that you have a good source for receiving watches and warnings, and what to do if one is issued. Threats for severe weather remain low at this time, but will likely be bumped up at some time today given the rather extreme instability expected to develop. This combined with favorable shear should lead to supercells, and possibly a squall line later in the night. There is currently a severe thunderstorm watch in effect:
